Your First 100 How to Get Your First 100 Repeat Customers and Loyal Raving Fans Buying Your Digital Products Without Sleazy Marketing or Selling Your Soul eBook Meera Kothand Reviews

  • I bought the one hour content book and I was shocked. It was a decent book with a very detailed laid out plan. I won't say this one doesn't have a plan it does. But the plan in this book has little to do with the title. She talks about a frame work that includes how you sell to your customers. It's 5 points in which you make a sale.

The frame work it self is decent but a little watered down. We all know we need a customer avatar. She even dives into her content marketing book a little and talks about blogging and email so she is sticking to what she knows.

The book holds you accountable but it falls short at delivering its promise. It's a clever title that has zero input on how to get 100 customers. She implies that by working on your 5 touch points you'll create a better experiences but fails to really explain how to get people in the door. Writing 5 or 10 blog posts may generate some traffic but it's a tactic used by many people and it's not going to generate customers.

For me the books a meh. It wasn't bad, but compared to other book a like Story Brand or the One Page Marketing Plan, it's lacking a lot.
  • I'm not new to Meera Kothand. Recently, I took an email course on newsletters from her, and was immediately hooked. So when she announced the release of Your First 100, I had to run to look at it, because in my "other" life/business, I'm working to start up a mentoring business to support the writing part of my life. (Reading supports the bookstore, mentoring supports the writing)

Your First 100 is no-nonsense and right to the point, but this isn't one of those cheap-ey, short-form PDF books that so many online businesses bandy about. Meera dives in deep, provides resources, and give concise advice about how to build your audience from the ground up. All the way up through converting your audience to paying clients and beyond, to ensuring that those paying clients come back again and again, because of the consistent customer journey that delights them.

Admittedly, I haven't finished the worksheets that Meera provides to help you through the process. I started to, and then got a bit lost in just enjoying what she was saying. Now that I've finished it, I'm going back to the beginning to work through the homework and worksheets that correspond to each section.

If you are launching any online business... If you already have an online business... Especially if your online business is struggling - you need this book.

It won't overwhelm you with how to grow your Facebook page, or get more Twitter followers. This is a no-nonsense and down to earth approach to providing the best, authentic version of what you offer to your ideal customers
  • You have to hand it to Meera Kothand, her brand is on point. Her blog posts are incredible and her content is both rousing and relatable. Your first 100 is a great book for beginners in the online space, or even offline but... Unfortunately I was at a different stage in the buyers journey when I read it. If you've done your research thoroughly, or your business is already established, Kothand book is a reminder more than anything. As always though, she writes with flare and ease, so you'll breeze through the book and be able to immediately apply the lessons if there are any you're not already doing. It's a solid little read but definitely targeted at beginners and as an entry point to Kothand's superb online repertoire. If you're not on her email list you need to be, that's where the real magic happens.
  • This book was a lot to take in - and I mean that in the best way! I am a fan of Meera Kothand - her email list and other book "One Hour Content Plan" are jam packed with actionable information, so I knew what to expect. This book still took me by surprise - there's so much really important information PLUS all those exercises!

It actually took me a while to get through the book, because I was working through the bonus pack and answering the questions as I read. I had some serious break throughs, too - which felt so great. Everyone has probably done a version of the dreaded "Ideal Customer" exercise - and I have too (more than once!). I redid it this time, after reading the chapters in the book and one of the sentences I wrote down about my brand was PERFECTION. I've always known what I want my brand to be, but I've never been able to write it down as clearly before. (Thanks, Meera!)

I've read a lot about branding and email marketing, but the perspective Meera offers and the way everything is broken down makes this book something I know I will go back to over and over. I have identified some key points to work on right away, but I imagine I'll always be able to re-read this and find something new as my business evolves. There were some fantastic ideas about trip wires and I'm very eager to go implement more into my marketing.

This book is worth way more than Meera is charging for it - the chapters are so loaded with information that it could be turned into a course and sold for hundreds. (I'm really not exaggerating!) Do your business a favor and read this book ASAP - you will be so happy you did!
